Definition Of Words

We have changed the definition of so many words over the past years - decade or decades - and hence become detached to the occurrences of what those words once meant. Words of great significance for our lives.
How we see the world changes as we change our vocabulary and this can of course be beneficial the world and our neighbors / others. And as long as we ensure that we don't lose touch with truthful facts it's fine, but I've seen and heard and experienced absurd twists in the definition of certain words. Let me give you some examples:

“ What it does is that it separates us from different realities & makes it harder for us to understand and relate to lives outside of our own - as well as it becomes harder for us to become understood and related to . ”
It seems harmless to twist words sometimes and give them a more specific and narrow meaning - that your close friends and family (and maybe even your whole community around you) would understand - but that wouldn't make sense on a wider level/scale. Once you have changed the meaning of a word, given it a new definition & meaning , it actually even changes your perception of reality and life itself as a whole. If it's just for fun, it's fine! If you're able to separate between your own definition and the actual definition of words - it won't do much harm. But I have been experiencing that too many people have attached to the new and/or self-made definitions of the words and to such an extent that they'll even "correct" others; for using them in their proper context...!? And this is a disaster, Debating fiercely with others over "the truth" of the meaning of the word while completely uninformed and uneducated on the matter.
Yes, I know - sometimes (and very often) it's a power-game.
